SEHGAL FOUNDATION, USA

Partnering with organizations and individuals to promote sustainable agriculture, water resources, environment & biodiversity conservation, and empowerment of the poor (especially women and girls) in rural India.

“We can each play a part in helping a child achieve their dreams. We have always believed in the importance of giving back and sharing our good fortunes with others. When you educate a child, you educate a country. When you educate a child, you educate the world. Sehgal Foundation’s work is unique, because it strengthens existing government schools where a majority of India’s youth are educated, and gives these children the opportunity to be their best. We hope others stand with us in supporting Transform Lives one school at a time program so that more children can be their best.”

~Dr. Jagdish Sheth and Mrs. Madhu Sheth, philanthropists

Sehgal Foundation, based in Des Moines, Iowa, was established in 1998 by Dr. Surinder Mohan (Suri) Sehgal, an India-born American scientist, businessman and philanthropist, and his wife, Edda Sehgal. The Sehgal family is dedicated to uplifting rural India and welcomes and values all partners who share their vision.

Our Work

Sehgal Foundation’s primary activity is to support the work of S M Sehgal Foundation (SMSF), a charitable NGO headquartered in Gurugram, India. SMSF works directly in rural villages to implement sustainable solutions in critical areas of need such as water management, small-scale agriculture, civic participation, school transformation, and empowerment of women and girls.
